Ancient fermentation. Modern skin ritual.

A milky fermented rice essence that floods the skin with hydration, leaving it soft, supple and beautifully conditioned.

There is something beautiful about taking something simple and allowing time and nature to transform it.

Tapai is rooted in an ancient Southeast Asian tradition of transforming rice through fermentation. Rather than simply soaking rice in water, the fermentation process changes the rice itself—creating a beautifully complex, skin-conditioning essence.

Inspired by that tradition, TAPAI Fermented Rice Essence is our minimalist daily ritual for skin that craves hydration, softness and luminosity.

Milky, featherlight and incredibly easy to layer, TAPAI glides over the skin like water, leaving behind no heavy residue—just skin that feels soft, conditioned, supple and beautifully refreshed.

More Than Rice Water

TAPAI isn’t ordinary rice water.

Rice is carefully fermented over time, allowing nature to transform something beautifully simple into a complex, milky essence. The fermentation process increases naturally occurring inositol while creating an essence containing amino acids, antioxidants and naturally occurring vitamins and minerals.

Featherlight and silky, TAPAI floods the skin with hydration and leaves it feeling soft, supple, smooth and beautifully conditioned, with the fresh luminosity of well-hydrated skin.

The result is an elegant essence designed to help hydrate, condition and support the feel of the skin’s moisture barrier while encouraging that smooth, luminous appearance we love.

Why Your Skin Will Love TAPAI

Hydrates — delivers lightweight moisture without heaviness.

Conditions — leaves skin exceptionally soft and supple.

Supports the moisture barrier — helps maintain comfortable, healthy-feeling skin.

Smooths — helps skin feel more refined and beautifully conditioned.

Illuminates — gives dull, tired-looking skin a fresh, hydrated glow.

Layers beautifully — the perfect first hydration layer beneath peptides, serums, creams and oils.

A Beautiful First Layer

Think of TAPAI as the beginning of your hydration ritual.

After cleansing, press or mist it generously over the face, neck and décolleté. Use one layer for lightweight hydration or apply multiple layers to skin flood, allowing each layer to absorb before adding the next.

Follow with your favorite Wyoming Wildflower treatments—especially Copper Matrix, hydrating gels, moisturizer and facial oils.

The Story Behind the Name

Tapai is a traditional term associated with fermented foods throughout Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and Malaysia, where rice and other starches have been transformed through fermentation for generations.

We chose to keep the name TAPAI as a nod to the fermentation tradition behind the ingredient.

This isn’t a claim that traditional Tapai was used as skincare. Rather, TAPAI celebrates the ancient art of fermentation while bringing a modern, cosmetic-grade fermented rice ingredient into your daily skincare ritual.

Simple by Design

Sometimes beautiful skincare doesn’t need a long ingredient list.

TAPAI lets fermented rice take center stage.
