Nature’s Silky Alternative to Silicone

Discover the beauty secret inspired by the Ethiopian Highlands.

Exceptionally silky. Surprisingly lightweight. Beautiful on both skin and hair.

Abyssinian Oil is a luxurious botanical oil derived from the seeds of Crambe abyssinica, a plant whose name traces back to Abyssinia—the historic name associated with Ethiopia.

What makes this oil extraordinary is its unusual fatty-acid profile. Abyssinian Oil is naturally abundant in erucic acid (C22:1), a rare long-chain omega-9 fatty acid that contributes to its incredible slip, conditioning properties and signature satin-like finish.

The result is an oil that feels almost unlike an oil at all.

It glides effortlessly over skin, smooths beautifully through hair and leaves behind softness and shine without the heavy, greasy feeling associated with many traditional oils.

It’s one reason Abyssinian Oil has earned a reputation as nature’s silky alternative to silicone.

What Makes Abyssinian Oil Different?

An Extraordinary Fatty-Acid Profile

Abyssinian Oil stands apart from many botanical oils because of its naturally high concentration of long-chain omega-9 fatty acids, particularly erucic acid.

This distinctive composition contributes to the oil’s remarkable spreadability, silky texture and conditioning feel.

Silky Without the Heaviness

A few drops spread beautifully across the skin, creating a soft, satin-like finish rather than an overly oily coating.

On hair, that same slip helps smooth and condition strands while enhancing natural shine.

Naturally Stable

Abyssinian Oil also has excellent oxidative stability compared with many botanical oils, helping it maintain its quality and luxurious sensory characteristics over time.

One botanical ingredient. One remarkably unique fatty-acid profile.

Use just a drop or two as a finishing oil and discover why Abyssinian Oil has become such a coveted ingredient in luxury hair care.

From Abyssinia to Your Beauty Ritual

There is a story behind the name.

Abyssinian comes from Abyssinia, the historical name associated with the region of modern-day Ethiopia.

The Crambe abyssinica plant produces small seeds containing an oil with an unusually distinctive fatty-acid composition. Its abundance of long-chain fatty acids gives the oil the elegant slip and silky sensory feel that sets it apart from more familiar botanical oils.

Today, Abyssinian Oil has found a new place in modern beauty—valued for its ability to condition skin and give hair incredible softness, smoothness and shine.

Ancient botanical origins. Modern luxury.

ABYSSINIAN is part of Wyoming Wildflower’s Around the World Luxury Oils Collection, celebrating extraordinary botanical oils, their origins and the beauty traditions and landscapes that make each one special.

How to Use

For Face:
After cleansing and applying your water-based serums and moisturizer, warm 2–3 drops between your fingertips and gently press into the face and neck. Use morning or evening.

For Hair:
Start with 1–3 drops, rub between your palms and smooth through damp or dry hair, concentrating on the mid-lengths and ends. A little goes a long way.

For a Pre-Shampoo Scalp & Hair Treatment:
Massage a small amount into the scalp and through dry areas of the hair. Leave on for approximately 20–30 minutes, then shampoo thoroughly.

For Body:
Massage a few drops into slightly damp skin after bathing to help seal in moisture and leave skin feeling silky and conditioned.
